Why banks say no

  • Thin or no credit history

    If you’ve never had a loan or card, banks have little to go on.

  • Late or missed payments in the last 12 months

    Banks look closely at the most recent year of repayments.

  • High balances compared to income

    When existing repayments take up a large share of income, banks tend to be more careful.

Your Credit Bureau Singapore (CBS) report reflects your repayment history, as reported by banks. The grade summarises that history.
